The forensic team of the National Police Headquarter took DNA samples from the parents of Muhammad Syarif, suspected suicide bomber at a mosque in Cirebon.
"We have taken some DNA samples from Syarif’s parents, Abdul Kadir, 66, and Srimulat, 60," spokesperson of Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Anton Bahrul Alam said here Sunday.
Anton said, under international standards DNA examination would be conducted for three to twelve days to gain satisfactory results. Previously, police had also taken DNA sample from the bomber.
The police have issued the photograph of the suspected male suicide bomber, aged between 25-30 years old, 180 cm tall , weighing 70 kg, blood type O, fair-skinned, and Mongoloid looking.
The forensic team also noticed a scar on the left forehead of the suspect. The bomb went off during a prayer in a Cirebon Police mosque, Al Dzikro, last Friday at 12.30. local time.
