Fixed WiMAX Network Planning to 10.5 GHz Corporate customers in DKI Jakarta

Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) is one of the solution in information
technology growing rapidly alongside information technology development. Fixed
WiMAX as one of BWA’s technology standards is also experiencing major
advancement. In Indonesia, Fixed WiMAX implementation has been developed
around for few years both in technology path and also regulation. Fixed WiMAX
implementation is still mainly concentrated in big city like Jakarta with the majority
of the user is corporate customer.
There is several things that need to be focused in implemented Fixed WiMAX
network such as demand forecasting corporate customer in Jakarta, propagation loss,
determining number of base station that needed to be able to support corporate
customer needs and coverage of each base station, and also determining location of
those base stations. Calculation of propagation loss is needed to predict the coverage
of each base station. Therefore, evaluation of this cell planning will be done in this
final project with help of software cellplanner. From simulation result, it can be
recognized that with that numbers of base station can cover all demand of corporate
customer in Jakarta.
